To avoid false representations (in often misleading advertisements, especially). Obviously, only a few days after the event, some scammers found loopholes and we were back to square one, with a bonus of outlandish names.
And we owe this brilliant idea to the United States. For starters, United States is a simple enough name, and it represents what it is. But the idea comes from Manhattan, where there’s the largest urban grid. At least it was for a long time. This grid, where there were no street names. Just numbers and avenues. Thus, a simple street and avenue number, and you know where to find the place very easily, like on a Cartesian plane.
This Great Renaming gave its name to BrainView, the company I work for. No language restrictions in this Great Renaming. That’s actually one of its flaws: some words from other languages are spelled like English, but mean something else in another language.
